Yes, Texans have a great deal of State pride, and rightfully so, though some people probably think to themselves, "What makes Texans so proud?" Well, the size of the state and its deep roots within American history which run quite deep, the long and storied history, tremendous skyline and picturesque views, Texan cuisine such as Texas barbecue, and of course, Whataburger, the ever-popular Texas-based hamburger chain. And believe me when I tell you this is just a short list.

Portrayals of Texas Pride can manifest themselves in a variety of ways. For example, Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback, along with a group of investors, have plans to open around 30 Whataburger restaurants in Missouri and Kansas over the next 7 years, and seemingly for sentimental reasons. Mahomes fittingly stated, "Obviously, being from Texas, you have a lot of Texas pride. And Whataburger is kind of at the forefront of that."
